Neonode N1

Ok, first of all, I know very little about this thing. If you don’t see it here, I don’t know it – so please don’t send me email asking for more details. I don’t have them. Honest. And thanks to those of you that have sent me further details and translations. I appreciate it.

So anyway, Swedish firm Neonode put out a press release today talking about their new N1 mobile device. It is a phone type device with a built-in camera, but with the added bonus of having a touch-screen. It is based on MS Windows CE.NET v4.1 with a proprietary program running as the main interface.

* Dimensions: 88mm x 52mm x 21mm, 93g
* 1100 mAh battery. 10 hours continuous usage, or 4 hours of talk time, or 250 hours of standby time
* Running Windows CE.NET v4.1 with “Neoshell” running on top
* 96Mhz ARM 7 processor
* 176×220 touch-screen display, 260k color, 2.2″ diagonal size
* 16Mb RAM, SD Slot for expansion with included 64MB SD card
* Built-in VGA camera, can record up to 15fps to SD card at low resolution of 160×120
* Internal speakerphone with audio out jack for headphones and/or microphone
* USB connection. Can act as USB host for low-power devices like a keyboard. Works with ActiveSync v3.6
* High-speed infrared port (up to 4mbps). Works with ActiveSync v3.6. Can simulate audio/video remote control
* Should include the following software: MP3 player, Video player, Web Browser, Email, Address Book, Notepad, Photo Software, and others. Presumably the standard PocketPC 2002 software with custom programs.
