Android 2.0-powered Samsung Spica and BigFoot revealed

Samsung is going to launch of new Android phones codenamed Spica and Bigfoot in Q3. Details have now emerged of those two Android-powered handsets, codenamed Spica and Bigfoot, that will follow in Q3 2009. Bigfoot and Spica are nearly identical lower-end versions of the I7500, with three-inch screens, three megapixel cameras. Samsung Spica will be affordably priced mass market device. And it will not use a Google/Android experience for it’s UI.

While Google is already at work on Android 2.0 which is codenamed “Donut”. Both Spica and Donut will come with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band (900/1700/2100MHz) HSDPA connectivity, a 3.0-inch WQVGA display, 100MB of user memory, GPS, Wi-Fi, USB2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, a 3MP auto-focus camera, a digital compass, a microSD card slot, and a 1500mAh battery

Android 2.0/Donut is going to be the first version of the OS that vendors feel is ready to appear on their phones.
