Samsung Tobi S3030 – a mobile phone for pre-teens

After announcing a couple of all-serious, highly-featured phones (like Samsung i7110 or Samsung Eternity), the largest South Korean handset manufacturer has now unveiled a phone that won’t attract too many grown up users: Samsung Tobi S3030.

The company says that Tobi is made for pre-teens, as well as young adults, thus it’s no wonder the phone will come in six color versions: Sweet Pink, Bright Orange, Loyal Blue, Oasis Blue, Apple Green and Snow Silver.

The new slider is made from “eco-friendly and non-toxic material” and comes with a set of SOS function, like: SOS call, SOS message and Fake call.

Also, Samsung Tobi has a changeable backside cover and it allows users to insert any photo of their choice under the backside see-through protective sleeve.

 

The specs of the handset are not that great, but for pre-teens, these should be enough:

• Tri band GSM/GPRS connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz)
• 1.9 inch display with 65K colors and a QCIF resolution (176 x 144 pixels)
• Three animated themes (Monster, Snowman, Ocean world)
• 1.3 MP camera
  Music Player (MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA)
• Bluetooth messenger
• Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0
• 15MB of internal memory
• MicroSD card support, up to 8GB
• Weight: 85 grams
• Dimensions: 94.7 x 45.4 x 17.5 mm

Samsung Tobi will be on sale starting this month in Italy and the UK, for an unknown price. Later this year, other European countries, the CIS and China will also get the new and colorful phone.
