LG is a phone aimed at prepay customers wanting “basic ”. From this statement, you’d think that the LG was a cheap-and-cheerful device with not much to offer.. but it has a surprisingly good technical specification which makes the quite possibly more high-tech than the phone you have in your pocket right now. On the surface, the LG looks like a fairly unassuming . But underneath, this is a 3. device with HSDPA high-speed data, a 3.2 megapixel camera with plus a secondary video calling camera, a 2.2″ QVGA high-contrast display, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, a pretty comprehensive and microSD expandable memory, plus a web browser and . One unusual feature with the LG is the “finger mouse” embedded into the to make one-fingered navigation easier. It’s also worth pointing out that the display has a 2000:1 contrast which should make it very easy to read.

A couple of notable omissions are the lack of an FM radio and the camera appears to have no flash. But then the is designed to be good value for money, and it’s pretty feature packed as it is.

Internal memory is a modest , but this can be expanded by up to 4GB using an optional . Overall, the measures 101 x 50 x 15mm and weighs 97 grams which is pretty good for a 3. device. The internal 800 mAh battery is capable of 3 hours 20 minutes talktime and 10.6 days standby time.
We don’t know how much the LG will cost, but if it is aimed at pay-as-you-go customers then it won’t be too expensive. There’s no release date for the phone either.

From what we can see, the LG has the potential to be a very good value phone that easily offers all the features that most people would ever need. Give it a few months, and the may well be a very to somebody’s Christmas stocking.
