The+details+about+LG+KP500+specs++prices The details about LG KP500: specs & prices
When pre-announcing a new phone – like LG KP500, the Korean maker has got into the habit to release only very few details about the device to wet our appetite.

Touting the key marketing gimmicks like full touchscreen & cheap in this case, LG remains mum about almost everything else. The KP500 specs and prices will have to wait for the official announcement in a few weeks.

Or not.

Ukrainian site Onliner.ua managed to finagle most of the details about LG KP500, including specs and price from company reps there.
LG KP500 specs will include:

* Quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900), GPRS/Edge connectivity
* 3″ 240×400px 262K color TFT display/touchscreen
* 3 mpx (2048×1536 px) camera with 12 fps video recording
* Virtual on-screen QWERTY keyboard
*
* Built-in motion sensor
* 46 MB of user memory
* microSD memory card slot
* Bluetooth A2DP, USB
* 900 mAh Li-Ion battery with 210 min talk and 330 hrs stand-by time
* Dimensions: 106.5×55.4×11.9mm
* Weight: 89

LG KP500 price in Ukraine will be $350 (~250 EUR). And, without subsidies, it should be similar in the rest of the world.

So, there you have it. LG KP500 is rather cheap handset among it’s full touchscreen peers. But it is also very basic – no 3G, no Wi-Fi, no GPS, no flash and autofocus for a camera and no fancy DivX playback on that big display.

But, I guess, a good option for a budget conscious full touchscreen phone fan.

Ultra-thin Palm Eos coming to AT&T for just $99?

This is definitely Palm’s week. A boatload of rumors and stories related to the Sunnyvale company are coming from all over the Web, culminating with this: the second smartphone to run on WebOS is the Eos, a 10.6mm thin handset that will (apparently) be launched by AT&T.

Since it’s bound for AT&T, the Eos is obviously a GSM device – quad-band GSM, more exactly, with HSDPA. Which means it could be also launched in Canada (via Rogers), as well as across Europe.

According to Engadget, the image below shows what the Eos supposedly looks like:

The handset does look like an upgraded Centro, and it’s probably the same device which appeared several hours ago in that blurry picture.

WebOS aside, the features of Eos include:

  • 2.63-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 400 pixels
  • A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, EDR
  • Music & video players
  • SMS, MMS, built-in IM client
  • 2MP fixed- with flash and video recording
  • 4GB of internal memory
  • MicroUSB 2.
  • 1150 mAh battery for up to 4 hours of 3G talk time

It’s said that Eos will be priced at $349 before rebates. According to TechCrunch, the smartphone’s price with an AT&T contract will be of only $99 – not bad at all.

No word yet if the Eos will be sold in the US exclusively by AT&T (like the Palm Pre via Sprint), so T-Mobile might get it too.

iphone 3g oled New iPhone Due to Land July 17 With Glowy Logo?We had heard a few of the of iPhone earlier this month, but now we’ve got some confirmation and other details, including, but not limited to, a glowing Apple ( logo on the back. Ooo. Aaaah. Here’s the full list of supposed features:

  • Discontinuation of the metal band surrounding the edge of the device
  • Apple logo on the back to light up
  • Rubber-tread backing
  • Sleeker design
  • 32GB and 16GB to replace current capacities
  • $199 and $299 price-points to be maintained
  • 3.2 Megapixel camera
  • Video recording & editing capabilities
  • Ability to send a picture & video via MMS
  • 1.5X the battery life
  • Double the RAM and processing power
  • Built-in FM transmitter
  • Built-in compass
  • Revolutionary combination of the camera, GPS, compass, and maps to identify photo and inform about photo locations
  • Turn by turn directions

It’s hard to argue with an upgraded screen, better battery life and a beefier processor. It sounds like the form factor itself isn’t going to change, so we might be able to put those iPhone Nano rumours to bed (again). If the July 17th. release date actually pans out, it seems likely that Apple will announce the device at WWDC, which is coming up soon.
