Hot on the heels of the hugely popular and, well quite frankly brilliant, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia have announced the latest addition to the XpressMusic line up; th Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. A music mobile phone by name and features, the 5630 offers an interesting alternative to the 5800 for those wishing to stick with a traditional keypad rather than embrace the new wave of touchscreen popularity. A candy bar phone by form factor, the 5630 shares the same black with a red strip design as its touchscreen sibling. And the similarities don’t just end at the styling…
The 5630 features the same Nokia music player with support for a wealth of audio file formats including MP3, eAAC+ and WMA which should satisfy music fans whatever their preference. In terms of listening to your music, the 5630 has a 3.5mm audio input jack meaning you can use the supplied headphones or bring your own to the party. Round
ing of the music functionality, the 5630 is likely to launch with a 4GB memory card included in the box which should provide ample storage space from the word go while an FM radio will let you tune in to your favourite station.
Elsewhere, the 5630 XpressMusic doesn’t disappoint. Running on the Symbian S60 operating system allows for the same interactive home screen as that found on the 5800, while the customisation and downloadable content possibilities are endless. As an internet device the 5630 excels thanks to HSDPA mobile broadband and Wi-Fi connectivity while photography enthusiasts should be kept entertained by the 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording ready at the push of a button.
On reading the specifications the 5630 looks like it would be more at home as an Nseries device but when taking into account the similarities with the 5800 and the music capabilities, XpressMusic is more accurate.
