Palm was proud to show off MotionApps’ PalmOS emulator, dubbed “Classic,” as a means of run legacy on the Palm Pre’s brand-spankin’-new . From what we saw back at 2009, Classic does a fantastic job of recreating the old Palm on the Palm Pre. Unfortunately, we were only shown the basics of what “Classic” is capable of doing.

Today, Mobile has posted a new video that shows off exactly how powerful Classic actually is. Rather than running more tame , the new video shows the Classic going full-bore with the 3D GTS: World Racing. Classic proves, in this here video, that it’s fully up to the task of crunching all those 3D at a pace that makes for a smoothly .

Classic will apparently only run applications designed for 320×320 displays. Apps specifically formatted for 320×480 displays are not supported. Classic will only run one at a time and won’t support HotSync. Sadly, GPS, Bluetooth, and phone features aren’t in the bag for Classic. It looks like older will be restricted to the Classic “sandbox.”
