Microsoft and LG go hand in hand in mobile deal

Remember how your momma always told you, it’s going to be a dog eat dog world “out there?” Well, times are a-changing, at least as far as Microsoft and LG are concerned. The two companies have just signed an agreement to collaborate with each other in mobile technology.
According to a statement issued by LG: “The agreement ensures continued strategic collaboration in R&D, marketing, applications, and services in the field of converged mobile devices.”
So basically, LG and Microsoft are going to level with each other in terms of mobile technology development. “Both companies will continue to define and align their mobile strategies through annual top management meeting,” the statement further goes.
Of course, all this is part of the larger battle in the smartphone arena, which is currently ruled by Nokia, and where the iPhone, BlackBerry, and Google Android phone lay wait for their own chances to strike. But by any means, I think it’s going to take a long time before anyone single-handedly, or even collaboratively, takes down Nokia as the ruler of the smartphone roost, whose mobile OS is running on two-thirds of smartphones in the world.
And don’t even get me started about the Symbian Foundation. There’s an alliance you can be sure will shake the industry soon.
