Palm has announced their “new-ness” : a new smartphone called the Palm Pre, powered by the new Palm OS called webOS (formerly code named Nova).

Palm Pre (what’s with the name?) certainly looks like a nice phone. I agree with Carlo over at MobHappy, with the new Pre, Palm has caught up with the market leaders (, Android) but have not surpassed them. I’ll write up more on my thoughts on the new smartphone and operating system over the weekend.
