Samsung S9402 DuoS- a luxury dual SIM card phone

Samsung has been the first and so far the only major handset manufacturer to offer dual SIM card phones outside China.
And it already has an impressive Dual SIM phone collection under the DuoS brand, which includes their first two SIM phone - Samsung D880, the cheap Samsung P240 / D780, and Samsung D980 touchscreen phone.
Today we learned that there’s a new dual SIM phone coming.
This time Korean manufacturer is aiming to the very high end segment of the market with it’s new Samsung S9402 DuoS luxury handset.
Samsung D9402 will be made of premium materials which include hardened scratch resistant display glass and metal frame covered with rhodium (chemical and mechanical damage resistant platinum group metal). It will also come equipped with Bang & Olufsen/ ICEPower amplifier to improve sound quality of the phone speakers.
Other Samsung S9402 specs include:
- Triband GSM (900/1800/1900 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 1st SIM card
- Dual band (900/1800 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 2nd SIM card
- 2″ 262K color QVGA AMOLED display
- 5 mpx camera with autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection, WDR and LED flash
- FM Radio with RDS
- 1 GB of built-in memory
- microSDHC memory card slot (up to 8 GB)
- Bluetooth 2.0 and USB
- 960 mAh battery
- Dimensions: 115 x 48 x 16 mm
- Weight: 140 g
Apart from the lack of 3G, the specs and features of Samsung S9402 look pretty impressive for a luxury phone.
And you can expect a pretty impressive price tag for Samsung S940 DuoS too, when a handset is launched officially.

Nokia has recently launched an American version of their Nokia 7510 Supernova mobile phones. Despite the global economic crisis, it seems that Samsung sees some potential in the luxury phone segment of the market as they’ve decided to push through with their S9402 mobile phone. It’s now called the Ego GT-S9402 and looks a lot more sophisticated than the leaked shots we showed you guys in the past.
We’ve also now learned that it’s made of liquidmetal composite which is said to be a lot better than titanium in almost every aspect and justifies the additional zeros in its price tag. Aside from the fancy new material, most of the specs we mentioned in the past are still intact. It’s got the AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection and LED flash, FM radio, tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth, 1GB internal memory, microSD card slot that supports up to 8GB additional storage, and the thing that’s most unique about it, active dual-SIM functionality.
It’s expected to retail for 1200 EUR (roughly $1500) but as to where it can be purchased is yet to be known. Anyway, with a lot of great bargains in the market today, we’re not at all that excited with this uber-expensive phone from Samsung, but hey, if you’ve got the cash, then the S9402 might just be the phone for you.

Samsung S8000 Android

Samsung had officially acknowledged that they would be putting out three Android handsets this year, and we had seen some blurry hints of the first, but now we’ve got a clear view of the second: the S8000. The specifications, as leaked by Russian reseller Euroset, are:
* 3.1″ AMOLED WVGA touchscreen
* 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash
* FM radio + RDS
* 2 GB internal memory and microSD slot
* 3.5 mm headphone jack3G, Wi-Fi, aGPS
* 12mm thick
* DivX andXviD support
* 3D UI (S-Class?)
Considering the European source, we might not be seeing this one in North America any time soon, but for those on the other side of the pond, the preorder price was set at 470 euros before the S8000 was taken down. It looks like a very sleek device – borrowing that cube-ish home button from the Ultra Touch was a good move.
