CSR’ BlueCore7 single chip solution combines low energy Bluetooth, GPS and FM Radio

Ultra low power Bluetooth chip solution obviously isn’t enough for CSR? They can do more, handset makers and ultimately end-users want more. Hence, they’re launching their seventh generation BlueCore silicon (BlueCore7), which integrates Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, Bluetooth low energy, eGPS (enhanced Global Positioning System), and FM transmit and receive technologies on a single chip. Best of all, BlueCore7 allows the Bluetooth and FM radios to work without interference, “either independently or together to allow users to stream FM radio from a handset to a pair of Bluetooth headphones.” Why do we care about it? Think smaller handsets, or even better think existing handsets with batteries that last much longer. Sounds promising where in my book. Now, we have to sit and wait for the first phone makers to license the technology and start implementing it in their products. Which we’ll hopefully see launched this year…

Appearance A black phone with the silver engravings. The form factor is monoblock. The design left a very pleasant impression. On the one hand it is modest and on the other – classical. “Only a rich man can afford to buy a good phone”. It looks like this saying is gone into the past. Now a phone is not a luxury any more but a means of communication.The keypad was the first surprise. Some of the buttons are placed differently which is very original. Before the questions appear it should be mentioned that it is easy to use this keypad. The corpus of the phone is well done.
The navigation four-position button stands up the corpus a little. The “quick” functions can be applied to this button. The phone K202 looks rather solid and not like a toy that will fall apart.
The battery holds well for three days. Even if the user talks on the phone and plays the games. There are two batteries in the set. So if both are used the phone can work for 6 days.
The sound is loud. MP3 melodies can be used as the call melodies. It also has the vibro.
The MP3 player sound is of a very high quality and allows to really enjoy the music. The interface is easy to use.
Usually budget phones have a poor quality or a small display. But this is not the case with BBK K202. Large color high quality display is a pleasure for the user. TFT, 176×220 pixels, reflecting 65536 colors.
BBK K202 possesses a built in photo camera with rather modest 3.0 mega pixels. The photo and video materials quality is satisfactory.

The connection so good. The mobile BBK K202 has 128 MB for the music and storage. For the ones who are not satisfied with this, there is a microSD card slot. When connected to the computer, there is no need for any additional programs. The phone automatically detected Microsoft Windows XP and even Windows 2000. it can be used as the Web camera. So if you connect it to the computer or a notebook while driving you can have a video conference.
The menu is simple: there 9 classical icons placed as a square. A very comfortable notebook for 1000 entries.
In it’s price range it is one of the best phones.
In general BBK K202 is a good phone and it should find its buyer. It is a good player, large display and varied functions.
