Emgeton outs HSDPA-capable dual-SIM Enzo

Across the Atlantic ocean, probably unknown to many, there’s a mobile phone manufacturer called Emgeton. Although they don’t necessarily have internationally available mobile phones, that doesn’t mean that they’re not capable of coming out with a decent handset offering for their modest, but devoted clientele. That’s exactly what they have in the Enzo.

The Emgeton Enzo is a dual-SIM mobile phone that supports HSDPA connectivity on one SIM while maintaining a tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800/1900) connection on the other. It also comes with a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, secondary camera for video calls, MP3/video player, 50MB internal memory expandable via microSD cards of up to 4GB in capacity. It’s not exactly top-of-the-line specs, but it’s a pretty impressive stat sheet especially since its from a small player such as Emgeton. The Emgeton Enzo will be released sometime in April in the Czech Republic for 7,990 CZK or $388 in USD.

This is further evidence that the competition is indeed fierce in the mobile phone industry, and not just among the big three. The Enzo may not topple the Samsung DuOS out of the top dual-SIM spot, but it’s a nice alternative for the people of the Czech Republic.
